Are you using apps in YOUR BUSINESS?
Do you hate having to keep up with your receipts? Are they cluttering up your vehicle, or are they all over your desk? We use Receipt Bank! All you have to do is take a picture of your receipt, and Receipt Bank extracts the key information for you, so there is no need for extra manual data entry. Receipt Bank can publish the data to QuickBooks, or it can be downloaded as a spreadsheet and used to create expense reports.

Ready for Tax Time?
Make sure you have everything in order for year end.

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2016, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be:

54 cents per mile for business miles driven, down from 57.5 cents for 2015
19 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes, down from 23 cents for 2015
14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations

Do you know that there is a directory of Federal Tax Return Preparers with Credentials and Select Qualifications available at your finger tips? You can go to the following website:http://irs.treasury.gov/rpo/rpo.jsf and use it as a tool to research tax return preparers near you, or determine the type of credentials or qualifications held by a specific tax professional, and see which tax return preparers have completed the recommended annual CE hours each year.

Reading recommendation

Every month, I try to read a new business book. Everyone should read Who Moved My Cheese created by Dr. Spencer Johnson. It is a story about how to manage difficult changes in your work and in your life by taking the situation seriously, but not loosing your own sense of humor. The story takes place in a Maze where four amusing characters look for “Cheese” – Cheese being a metaphor for what we want to have in life. You can order it from Amazon.comfor $12-14.

Wednesday, April 27^th, 2016 – QuickBooks Online or Desktop (depends on demand)
Thursday, May 26^th, 2016 – QuickBooks Online or Desktop (depends on demand)

All classes are held at our office, and start promptly at 9 am and go until 1 pm. The classes are $147. The class sizes are limited to 5 people, and fill up quickly. Each attendee will receive a free workbook to keep and take notes in, lunch, and a free ½ hour consultation after class to answer any remaining questions you may have once you get back to the office. A Recent Success
