Are you using apps in YOUR BUSINESS?
Do you deduct your miles for business? Do you hate keeping track of your mileage to deduct on your tax return? Do you know that you need to have a written record of your mileage to be compliant with the IRS just in case you ever get audited? MileIQ mileage tracker automatically logs your miles, you can claim your full deduction or reimbursement with confidence and ease. You can try out MileIQ for free (up to 40 drives/month), otherwise it is $5.99 a month for unlimited-drive plans. This App is available for Androids and IPhone.

The purpose of going into business is to get free of a job so you can create jobs for other people.” – The E-Myth

Reading recommendation

Every month, I try to read a new business book. I am currently reading The E-Myth by Michael E. Gerber. If you don’t want to be one of the 40% of small businesses that fail within their first year, I highly recommend reading this book. It is about why most small businesses don’t work and what to do about it. You can order it from Amazon.com for $12-$13.

Dinner Seminar

Our dinner seminar that Katie Matthews, Edward Jones Financial Advisor and I held last month was a great success. A special thanks to Classic Events in Hempstead for the wonderful food they prepared for the seminar.  It was such a success, we are anticipating hosting another one in the Spring.  If you are interested in joining us for the next one, let me know.  We were so surprised that our guests “connected” with one another, that we are going to use it as a networking event also – so bring your business cards to hand out.

A Recent Success
October 22nd, 2015, we partnered with Katie Matthews, an Edward Jones financial planner, and held our first dinner seminar discussing Business Strategies, Retirement and the Entrepreneurial Equation.
It was such a success we are anticipating hosting another dinner seminar in the Spring. One thing that we did not expect was all of the business networking that occurred that night!
